| | Brand New Day- Dr Horrible | ] | Yes, it's true. It's awesome too. I spent two whole days on the "range" and learned most of it. Of course, I'm still a beginner, but I can ride a bike! I will have my license next week. All that's left to do is take the written exam. It was a little intimidating at first, but I can do a hard stop, swerve, and turns. I stil have a little trouble on the U-turn portion going slow, but I think that will come with time.
Jake almost has the bike running. He's been doing such a good job. I'm so proud of him.
I have a pink and silver helmet! Now, just have to get the jacket.
Ok, off to shower, then snuggles! (didn't say with who though) ~G~ |

| between music and dance |
[Apr. 22nd, 2009|01:26 pm] |
I don't think the world can go wrong. It's just been wonderful the past few days. Today, Liz and I were listening to music in the park, eating Taco Temple, then just had to dance. It is one of the greatest feelings in the world- to just dance. To just be happy that the world, simply, is.
What a great day. |

| | amused | ] | I just hid eggs in Meadow Park, all the while my two cats were inspecting the hiding places, and talking to me. They followed me all over the park, including up the play structure. I love the babies. I love doing things to make other people happy. I would be lying if I said I didn't want someone to do the same for me. But, in the case that no one does it for me, I'm pretty happy knowing that I added a little extra to someone elses day.
First Easter as a married person- hopefully, only Easter apart from my significant other. I love you Jake.
I gotta get to sleep, I have work at 7.
Happy Easter. ~G~ |

| | I gotta have you- Weepies | ] | It's been one of those weeks- lots of work (yay) lots of play (yay) lots of car repairs (boo) and Jake leaving next week (boo).
Been working all the jobs. They do bring in a significant amount of money, and it keeps us going. They don't bring in enough to support Jake and me and two car payments. For this reason, Jake is going back to Ms to work for his dad's construction company until he can get a job here. On the bright side, we're in a place where something needs to happen, unfortunately, this seems to be the only thing for now. He's still looking for things here, but his degree and experience just aren't hiring here, like they just aren't hiring for people with my skills in MS. We're gunna make it, it's just going to take time.
Pixie got herself stuck in a tree this morning. It wasn't a regular tree either- it was one of the tall pine trees. Poor thing. I felt so bad when I left her to go to work. She eventually did get down though, and made it inside. She seems to be ok.
My car is expensive. I knew I should have had it checked out before I left MS. It needed an oil change, a smog check, a new gas cap, a new filter, a few nozzles tweaked, and this that and the other. I'm glad that I opened my IRA. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to pay for it. On the bright side, even with getting Scarlet repaired, it was still cheaper than registering in MS. Yay for me, I think.
Anyway, I've got to get going. I have another shift at another job tonight. I need to get stuff out of the car too. Hope everything is well

| | Slow me down | ] | It was a week. It was hellish, with small bright spots, and it was immensly better starting on Friday night. Between working my three jobs, and coming home to a not-so-pleasant environment, I was not a happy camper. Once Friday rolled around it was better. Poor Liz, everyone has been crying on her shoulder all week (me included). I had one of those good ol fashioned bash sessions on the way to ice cream and beer. It was perfect and just what i needed. Konnie, Liz and I went to Spikes on Thursday, ate dinner and laughed a good long time. After, we played ROCK BAND in the streets of farmers market. It was perfect. Friday was the barn dance, and just what I needed to remedy my week. Ally even made it over for a night of girlishness. Sat started with a play day in the park, and some great photos. Then I went to set up my mom's new TV. I really like it- it's a 42" flat screen, and fits the house perfect. Then, I fixed Kathey's TV in exchange for a bottle of wine. Came home, ate, snuggle time, nap time, then Liz and I watched Cirque and totally enjoyed each other. I came home to find Jake being social and playing poker with our roommates. It's looking up. I'm glad.

[Jan. 19th, 2009|02:35 pm] |
YAY, I got a job!! It's a virtual receptionist job, but it's a job WITH benefits! I start on Weds, and they're willing to schedule me around Dennis and Diana so I get to keep that one too. I'm happy. Once we get a pay check or two we're going to go celebrate. I'll post more when I find out more about the job, but as of right now, it's something. I'm so happy.

| | It's a Small World | ] | Though we are moving, it was still the best weekend ever. People came to the party, and most had a good time. I say most cause some people just don't seem to want to have fun- period. We went to Bellingrath, as per usual. I rode with Chris, Amy and Melissa- we had show tunes in the car. And dear God, can we harmonize. It was full of awesome. At the house, we played rock band, did energy work, made hoops (not kidding) had a great little dirty Santa, and drank our cares away. It took a bit for me to get tipsy, but it was worth it. I always say it's not a party till people are playing in the streets, something is spilled and something is broken. Ahhh, what a night. By 7 in the morning, people were leaving or just going to sleep. Jake and I decided we do have a party house, as it has a pole, two couches, a mattress in the hall, guest bedroom, and queen bed to share. There's plenty of room to play and dance and a seperate fridge for drinks. It was a great great day/night. Jake and I had a heros marathon the next day (I mean ALL day) complete with snuggles and soup. The next day we went down to see Uncle Jake one last time. I'm glad we did. We enjoyed each other and wrapped up the weekend with popcorn, M&M's, snuggles and heros. I kinda figure we aren't going to get a lot of those in the next week or two. As it stands, we're down to 4 days and counting. We're taking the bed apart tonight so we can start to load things into the car. Once we get the cat tree in, I can fill it with small breakables then everything else will come together. All in all, it's been wonderful. I can't believe we leave in 5 days. Then it's the never ending state of Texas. Yay...and the people rejoyce

| | Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays | ] | In the whirl wind that is the Holiday season, I found respit in friends and activites. We went to Pensacola on Sat to see friends. It was great. They took us to a wonderful lunch with over a million dollars of $1 bills on the walls (not to mention REALLY good burgers and drinks), we played rock band, watched some shows, and went bowling. Let me tell you, tipsy bowling is FUN! AND, I got a 109 (i know, not a great score, but good for me). We drank our cares away, and overall, it was nice.
We went shopping on Sunday for last minute Christmas gifts, and sold my easel. I like money, and i like Craigslist. We also went to see Yes Man. Funny movie, and we enjoyed it. I haven't been to a movie in a while, which made it perfect. After we got home, we packed the middle room. It's pretty much ready to go. We're working on the living room tonight to get it ready for our Christmas Party as well. I'm done wrapping presents for the time being. At least Jake has his big present here. I hope the little one's come soon too.
Overall, the holiday season is just as busy as the past. We're making time for each other, for our selves, and for family. I'm trying to find my brain, which as exploaded in the form of clothes in our bedroom since I don't have a set of drawers. it's ok, soon everything will be packed and ready to go BACK across country. I'm getting less and less attached to stuff the more I have to move it. If only I could detach myself from the large items. Small items are easier to move. BUT large items cost more. EH, whatever. We'll make it work or we won't. Comforting to know there are only two options.
Anyway, back to scouring the want adds. I've applied for enough positions that I should get something. Keep your fingers crossed for ANY of the Cal Poly jobs. They would be perfect indeed.

| | Deck the Halls | ] | I'm convinced the holidays bring out the worst in people. Shouldn't this be a time of year when everyone is happy, and has blinders on? I mean come on! When I say "No one is avaliable, they are all in a nation wide conference," what don't they understand! No, I'm sorry, the person you want to talk to is not avaliable and NO i will not page them for your emergency (which isn't an emergency at all!). Also, when I say they don't work here, I mean it.
Your severe lack of planning does not constitute an emergency for me!
Anyway, other than that, it's wonderful. I've made cookies, and a gingerbread house, and decorated a tree. People are buying things on Craigs List so we'll have a little extra money too. We're done Christmas shopping, there are things in the works as far as jobs go for CA. We've shipped things, and started packing. I'm looking forward to being in CA again. Ahh, the surf.
Anyway, things are going, and life is... also going.
Christmas party on Thurs. They're giving away a nice size TV (not as huge as the one we have), but nice. Cross your fingers. ~G~ |

| | Wishes- Magic Kingdom | ] | was awesome indeed. It was just what we needed, and a nice vacation to boot. I don't know if Jake enjoyed it as much as I did- but we had totally different agendas for our vacation. Can't say that we'll be doing it again any time soon. Disneyland, maybe.
Some of my favorite memories: ~The pool at the hotel. Pirate themed, great hot tubs and water slides. ~Tomato Florintine Soup at the hotel as well. Some of the best that I've had. ~Getting Christmas presents at Downtown Disney, and walking around with the lights. ~Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Awesome and well worth the money. We went on major rides, and totally enjoyed the first night there. Nothing will ever beat the fact that we walked up to see fireworks 5 minutes before they started, and had great spots on Main Street. ~Dessert at Coral Reef- it was a great suprise- vanilla ice cream in a chocolate glass with strawberries. Not to mention it was a fantastic lunch as well. ~Dining with Cinderella and family. It was great too and the food wasn't bad either. ~T-Rex for lunch. We sat in the ice cave, by the wooly mamoths. I think we got a picture of every color the cave turned. ~All the holiday things put us in a great spirit. ~Dream Fast passes at Hollywood Studios- I can say I've been part of a year of a million dreams ~The way Jake always beats me at games during the LAST possible minute
overall, it was amazing. We really had a great time. I think Jake is glad to be back at work. I'm sad to have left, and would easily do it again. I think next time though, I would train (like I did when I went with Christina) just cause it made things easier. I'm glad we went. ~G~ |

| | annoyed | ] | You would think, that if you work for a company with over 2000 employees, and you sent your computer in to be fixed and SPOKE with someone in the same company, you'd at least get their name. Had a woman on the phone, "I sent my computer in to be fixed, and I need a tracking number."
"Ok, do you know who you spoke with?"
"Nope"
"Do you have a ticket number?"
"No."
"Do you know when you sent your computer in?"
"A little while ago."
"Do you know what kind of computer it was?"
"No"
"If I told you some names, do you think you might remember who you spoke with?"
"No."
"I can take down your name and number, and we'll investigate the issue further. It may take a while, since we don't know who you spoke with or what the issue was. We'll give you a call as soon as we figure out something."
Gee, thanks lady. You know how this company works, and your being the idiot customer who I know you hate dealing with. The limitless stupidity of people will never phase me. Although, I've had some that came close.

| | Wishes- Disney World | ] | how do I love thee? Let me count the ways....
We had an awesome time at the fair. I don't think I've ever been to one where I was disapointed, come to think of it. We watched an awesome joust (one of the best that I've seen so far) and pretty birds. Jake and Jason got their ears pointed, and both were adoreable. I actually didn't get anything of real merit, though I did get a Universal Wench key chain. We got the traditional Turkey leg and bottle of Wizard Wine. Jake shot arrows, and was a good shot. I played with my hoop, and entertained the queen. We got a free ride in the Barrel (which was suprisingly fun). The Limey Birds didn't fail to dissapoint. This was the first time I was old enough to enjoy beer in the tavern. It was soooo worth the entire day. All in all, it was a great day.
Now, I'm sitting at work, watching a gloomy day. I would be researching Disney World Vacations, but the site is down. We've decided to go with Disneyworld instead of a cruise (just because of time issues). BUT this will be my first time at Disney World during Christmas, and it should be awesome. This is also the first time Jake and I are together in a theme park- and he's letting me go to Disney World. It'll be fun, reguardless.
Ok, now time to check the website again, and if not, time to play games.

| | When you wish upon a star | ] | I find myself browsing away the hours at work on the Disneyworld Website, and smiling. It's one of those things that i truely enjoy and always ALWAYS brings a smile to my face. I guess since I believe in Fairys and true magic, Disney will always be special to me. It doesn't matter how much I learn about the back stage pyrotechnics, it becomes more magical. I still go to Disney parks with coke bottle glasses, and no matter the situation (crowded park, screaming children, long lines) it's still just as fun. It kinda makes me sad to see families being grumpy with each other, or the parents pulling the kids to where they don't want to go. All in all, it's a place for everyone to have fun. ~Cheers~ |

because we do have the freedom of speech, and the ability to cast a vote that people will be sad, angry, frightened no matter the outcome. It was a historic presidential race, and Obama won. I've read a lot on both candidates, and I was on the fence for a long time...this post isn't about who won, who lost, how America is now run by terrorists or whatever. Its about the fact that people are unhappy no matter the outcome. If McCain won, it would have been the democrats who are bemoaning and grumping. Since the Democrats are out celebrating and making their next move, it's the republicans who are gripe. Didn't the election show anything to anyone? This was considered a landslide voctory in politics. If America goes down in flames it was the majority that sent us on our way. Lets give it a chance and see what happens- who knows, we may be much better off, we may end up under terrorist control but, for those of you who voted, at least you had the chance for your voice to be heard. For those of you didn't vote, SHUT UP! You don't deserve the right to complain one way or the other. |

| | On the rise- Dr. Horribles Sing Along Blog | ] | I love Halloween. it's another excuse to get drunk and catch up with friends.
We ended up at Fonteween and it was good. What made it awesome was the fact that I found friends! I mean, like the long lost kind of friends! Like James from CTF!! It made me happy. I have friends again.
Speaking of friends, it really nice to put a face with a text, and a body to go with it. Met a few people in person and they were as awesome as to be expected.
Whitney (my new sister in law) rolled her brand new car. She's ok, but the car is most likely totalled. We aren't quite sure what happened. At least there's only a few cuts, bumps and bruises.
We spent Sunday doing what the day was made for- being Lazy. it was truely wonderful. We watched some James Bond, Full metal, and we caught up on good ol' fashioned WoW time. Debbie and Jamie cooked again (as seems to be tradition on Sunday) and we just kinda chilled out. It really was a nice weekend.
Now we're on to...work. Oh well. it could be worse. It could be no work.
Oh yeah, and Don't forget to Vote tomorrow! I did already so you better too!

| | A Man's gotta do... | ] | and birthday, for a matter of fact!
We started off Fri by test driving the truck that we wanted to buy. We then went home, cleaned our cars and got ready to take them in on Sat. Well, the Toyota place just didn't want to deal. Normally, when you go in to buy a new car with a trade in, they take the trade-in, then say "Ok, that'll make your down payment $1000 after we pay off your note." Well, they juuust didn't want to do that. They wanted to make the $17,000 truck turn into a $22,000 truck after paying off all our cars. So, it basically, we would have been paying the same amount for one car as we are for three on a new 5 year note. To say the least, we still have two cars, but at least we have lower insurance. We're working on selling them too- soo if you know anyone who wants a Mustang or a little Saturn Vue, let us know!
Whitney had a little get together with a bon fire. We stopped by for a bit. We also had our yard rolled. YAY for pranksters!. Sat Night, we went to Ginger's party. YAY, it was full of awesome and win and we did have a blast. I knew we were experienced partryiers when we showed up with our own cooler with drinks, full of ice and a bottle opener. Oh well, we had fun. Jake danced the night away, and I was my usual social butterfly. He went as Captain Hammer and I went as my usual pirate. It was awesome to be there, and we loved being out. Have I mentioned that I love my Captain Hammer? We slept off our drunken stupor (Ok, I slept off my drunken stupor) then drove home at 5:15 in the morning, and slept till 1 in the afternoon. We went over to Jamie and Debbies and just had a nice day with family.
My Birthday was nice and low key. Went to work, took a nap during lunch, looked at pictures. Jake took me out to dinner at the new Fondue place in Hattiesburg. It was good, but expensive, but totally worth the splurge (since we don't do things like that). Then he was evil and let me loose in Hot Topic. SOOOO many pretties. I did end up getting a pair of super cute Mary Janes, and not a pair of pants for him. I think that would have been a good present for me- him in THOSE pants.
Anyway, to sum it up, it's been good and this weekend should be fun too! We've got more parties to go to.
